Dear Parents,
In an effort to keep you more informed about our classroom, I’ve created a class blog. You can go to
www.thehclubseneca.blogspot.com. I will put our weekly newsletter, monthly snack calendar, and special events. I would love to post pictures and/or work that we have been doing throughout the week.
The blog would also include websites and other resources to help with your child’s success in Kindergarten.
I sent home a permission slip last week. I am going to begin posting pictures and projects and I want to make sure I have permission from parents. I would use the pictures to show the things that we are doing in class. I think the kids would be proud to see themselves on the class blog. I am really excited about getting this started so that you are able to see more of what we are doing in class. When you go to the blog click on follower and it will ask for an email account. Please follow our class blog. Thank you for all of your support!
PENGUINS
The past two weeks we have been researching and learning about penguins. This next week the “Fancy Penguins are due on January 28th! The kids are excited about presenting their penguins next week.
SIGHT WORDS
This week I started testing for sight words. Please continue to practice these at home. The end of the year will be here before we know it.
WORD FAMILIES
The past two weeks we have been learning about word families and the ending of words. This is great practice for beginning reading because it helps with chunking words. On
www.starfall.com there are a lot of great stories for your child to listen to stories with word families.
MATH
We have really been working hard on writing our numbers and being able to sort numbers into groups of tens and fives.
UP COMING DATES:
February 14 early dismissal
February 15 and February 18 no school for winter break.
