Dr. Seuss week

This week we have been discussing the author Theodor Seuss Geisel also known as Dr.Seuss.
We began this week discussing the differences between real and make believe and how fun it is to read make believe stories. We also have been discussing word families so the first book that we read was One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. This book had alot of word families and rhyming words.

On Tuesday, I read Green Eggs and Ham. I then made green eggs and ham and the kids tried them. The results were great! Everyone tried the green eggs and ham! 14 students liked the green eggs and ham and 3 did not. In the pictures you will see them trying the eggs and ham. We then had a writing activity to go along with the story.

On Thursday we read Cat in the Hat. It was a blast reading the story and making the Cat in the Hat hat. When we were finished making the hat we came up with as many words that we could using the -at family and the kids wrote the words on their hat.
