Dear Parents,
It is getting closer to the end of the year. All of the kids are running low on dry erase markers, if you could please send a new thing of either 2 or 4 markers to school I would really appreciate the help. I would prefer black dry erase markers because the color markers are harder to erase on the white boards. Thank you for all of your support!
Phonics/Writing
This last week we read the story Guess How Much I Love You.  We did a lot of great activities with this book. One of our projects we thought of a sentence and then together as a group the kids had to illustrate the sentence on a large piece of paper. They then labeled the paper with post it notes. The kids loved it. I did post some pictures of that project on our class blog thehclubseneca.blogspot.com.

Math
The past few weeks we have been working on identifying money. I have introduced the penny, nickel, and dime. Please help review the coins at home and how much they are worth.

Library
Our library day is on every Thursday. Please make sure that the library books are back to school at least by Wednesday of every week so that we will have them ready for Thursday.

Up coming dates:
February 16- Early out
February 17- No school
February 20- school will be in session-snow make up day.
February 14- Valentine’s party at 2:00.

The next few weeks I will send home I a bag entitled “Book Buddies”. This is a story that I have read with your child during centers time and am sending home for them to read to you. In the bag there will usually be sight words to practice as well as a story. Please sign the paper that is in the bag and return the next day. The kids have loved being able to take these home.

Valentine Party: We will be making valentine bags in class to hold the valentine cards. We will be doing this on Monday.
